Aren’t all religions just different ways to God?
Of course we would have to say no! But why?
All religions believe there is a God don’t they? Yes, in one form or another.
All religions believe that we have choices between good and evil behaviour and that God prefers good? Yes.
All religions believe that there are special “activities” which will bring us closer to God. Yes, but ……
Most religions believe that it is possible to please God and live in a way that will lead to eternal life, reincarnation, nirvana or whatever. Not Christianity.
Christianity teaches that you cannot please God through your own efforts however hard you try. You do not deserve and cannot earn eternal life. No matter how good you try to be you are so far off the standard you’ll never make it.
So what solution does Christianity offer?
Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith.“
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
