Islam is without doubt rapidly growing in its influence in Britain, mainly through population growth but also because it is seen generally as a valid, innocuous alternative belief system.
But is it based on truth and teaching truth?
In short, the Bible and the Qur’an can’t both be true because they contradict each other on absolutely vital matters about the person of God. The biggest issue is that Islam states that Jesus is NOT the Christ, the Son of God and that there is no Holy Spirit. That makes Christianity BLASPHEMOUS to Moslems and Islam BLASPHEMOUS to Christians.
Christians believe that Jesus was (is) the Son of God, God in human form, that he was crucified for our sins, died, was buried and on the third day rose in a resurrected physical body. He lived among his disciples for forty days. Seen by more that 500. Then ascended into heaven to “sit” beside His Father in heaven from where he will return to judge the living and the dead. Moslems deny all of that. They most certainly do not accept that Jesus (Yeshua – Issa), just like His Father, has existed since before time, is eternal and as such “outside of time”.
Christians believe that salvation comes through putting your personal faith in Jesus. Moslems believe that you are saved by following certain religious observances and “submitting” to God, which basically just means “following certain religious observances” as outlined by Sharia.
Moslems have no assurance of eternal salvation. Not even Mohammad was sure where he would go after death. He didn’t even die a martyr, he was poisoned by a slave girl whose husband he had killed! (Google it)
The Islamic dilemma is that the Qur’an teaches that the Bible is true, but Moslems are taught that it was only true in the time of Mohammad but has been corrupted. But that simply can’t be true as there were already tens it not hundreds of thousands of bible manuscripts already in existence by the time of Mohammad. Who rounded them up and replaced them with a different version? Add to that the problem that Moslems believe that the word of God cannot be corrupted. Bizarre, isn’t it.
Going to the Hajj. Coming back a Christian.
