Why “SALT”?
Whitley SALT was an idea that developed from conversations between leaders of Charities and Churches in the South of Reading.
There was a shared feeling that people often received help for some aspect of their lives from one organisation but were reluctant to be redirected to another whole new group of people for some other need.
So the concept of “Social Action Linked Together” came about, an umbrella association blurring the edges between the member groups.
We share the motivation that comes from knowing that the heart of God is to be a blessing to all people irrespective of who they are or what they believe.
Our approach allows smaller groups to be part of a stronger collective while simultaneously giving larger groups the opportunity to offer specialised services that they don’t have.
By presenting our services under a single “brand”, the very best that is available in South Reading may be presented quickly and easily.
