That network still functions as well as ever, if not better, but the name has been dropped.\u00a0 The original site read:-<\/p>\n<p>Impact Reading\u00a0seeks to network together for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Envisioning \u2013 seeing the bigger picture of what God is doing beyond our own individual organisations.<\/li>\n<li>Coordination \u2013 working together in practical partnerships, keeping each other informed.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitation \u2013 enabling and empowering each other through our pooled expertise and knowledge<\/li>\n<li>Promotion \u2013 making known the good work that is going on in the name of Jesus<\/li>\n<li>Influencing \u2013 engaging with policy-makers and funders to have a Christian voice in key areas.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting \u2013 providing a peer support network for those engaged in social action<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How does Impact Reading work?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Impact Reading\u00a0aims to be inclusive of all those who are: Christian in ethos, engaged in social action, and involved in an identifiable organisation.<\/p>\n<p>Impact Reading itself is not a separate organisation, but an umbrella for all Christian social action organisations in our area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Relationship to Churches<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Impact Reading seeks to relate to all the churches of Reading through:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilitating church members in accessing information and services for themselves and others<\/li>\n<li>Keeping the churches informed about issues in government and community through our shared networks<\/li>\n<li>Publicising a range of opportunities for Christian service<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h6>(The above is taken directly from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.parkurc.org.uk\/2\/impact-reading\">original website<\/a> &#8211; Malc Peirce )<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Impact Reading &#8220;Impact Reading&#8221; is (was) a network of Christian social action organisations in Reading and surrounding areas.
