The “Lord’s ” Prayer

Many, if not all, of the pages on this site are my personal exploration of issues, theology and ideas. I desperately hope that no-one reading any of this concludes that I think I have things sussed, or worse still reads into what I say more than I intend and thereby puts me in a box!

I trust that you too are “on a journey“. That we both are constantly looking and listening. open to have our minds changed, open to deeper understanding. Willling to imagine walking in someone else’s shoes.

These pages are under construction and are my exploration and unpacking of the “Lord’s Prayer”.

My first thought is that this is not really the Lord’s prayer at all, but rather “The Disciples’ Prayer”, a prayer that Jesus taught His disciples to pray.

The second is that I don’t think He ever meant us to just say just the words, almost as if they areme sort of magic spell. Rather they are an outline guide to prayer. Bullet points to guide us in covering what we nee to pray about.

So indulge me as I try to unpack each bullet point.
